Unfortunately, just like us, our pets can become unwell and require medication to aid them to get better.

If your pet is unwell and requires prescription medication as a result, Jackson and Nuttall veterinary surgeons can provide the prescriptions and dispense the required medication at the same time. We will always provide the correct medication for the condition diagnosed, but if you notice any unusual side-effects, you must contact us immediately so we can advise you on what to do.

For registered pets, you can order a repeat prescription using the form linked here. Please note that any animals supplied with veterinary medicines must be under our veterinary care. Repeat prescriptions will require authorisation by a veterinary surgeon, and your pet will need checking and reassessing periodically by a vet to make sure that its medication is working correctly.

At Jackson and Nuttall we realise that administering certain medications to your pet can be somewhat tricky, as often they do not want to take the medication that will make them well again!  If you find administration of medications difficult, please speak to us at the time of your appointment and we can advise on our tried and tested tips and tricks to make the process as easy as possible for you.

Sometimes, pets can develop conditions that require ongoing, regular medication.  If this is the case with your pet, please speak to us about repeat prescriptions.  Requests for repeat prescriptions need to be made before 12 noon to ensure the medication is available for collection after 4:00pm the same day.

For repeat prescriptions ordered after 12 noon, the medication will be available to collect after 4:00pm the following day.  By allowing us this notice period, you enable us to adhere to our policy for ensuring the correct dispensary procedures are followed.

You may request a written a prescription if this is your preference.

It is always best to ensure pet medication is obtained from a reputable source, as only they can ensure correct type and dosage are supplied.  There are risks associated with sourcing medication elsewhere that could potentially lead to serious consequences for your pet.  At Jackson and Nuttall we will always prescribe appropriate medications for your pet and the condition that requires treatment, and discuss potential side-effects to watch out for, and any other information you need to be aware of.  We want to ensure all our clients have peace of mind whenever they have to administer medication to their pet.

If you have any questions about prescriptions please contact us.
